Accomplishments: | During 201 A3 provided our services at NO COST reaching over 6,000 people with 528 individuals receiving direct services with the support of major funding from the Denver Regional Council of Governments Area Agency on Aging (DRCOG AAA). This funding has also allowed us to add specialized low vision optometrist exam financial support for our clients, Active partnerships with Tri County Health Department, Kaiser Permanente and Senior Resources Centers were developed as well during the year increasing mutual referrals and increasing educational opportunities. A3 has hosted “In the Dark” events to bridge the gap between the sighted and blind/visually impaired worlds and raise funding. Likewise, A3 was able to be in front of the general public to help educate and dispel myths relative to VI/B issues by participating in community events. Staff and Board made 66 community organization presentations to service clubs, residential areas, schools, veterans and senior groups to help provide education specific to eye health, disease and prevention. Over the past 12 months A3 has added four new support groups under our Sight for Seniors Program. A3 implemented a customized database with CiviCore in order to support the new evaluation/reporting system. The 3 year Strategic Plan developed in 2012 was revised in January 2015. As a result of assistance from The Denver Foundation’s technical assistance grant program A3 initiated an investigation of our brand and launch our new brand 7/1/15 after many months of additional research and work on marketing materials and the “brand” so that A3 will have a greater outreach impact in the community at large. A3 represents what we do: Help people to Adapt & Adjust to vision loss to Achieve maximum independence! | ||
