Statement of Purpose: Serving the Rocky Mountain Region The Community College of Denver Confucius Institute (CCDCI) is an educational institute established in collaboration with Chongqing Three Gorges University in China under the sponsorship of the China National Office of Chinese Language Council International. CCDCI is part of an international network of Confucius Institutes dedicated to promoting the understanding of Chinese language and culture, supporting local Chinese language education, and enhancing intercultural and economic exchange between China and the world. As the only community college selected worldwide to host a Confucius Institute and the first Confucius Institution in the greater Rocky Mountain Region, Community College of Denver Confucius Institute serves the people of Denver and the Rocky Mountain Region. Our mission is to promote understanding of Chinese language and culture by providing various courses, workshops and activities to students, teachers and local communities. We assist local companies with doing business in China and serve as a Chinese resource center for schools, businesses, and communities.

Ongoing Projects: We are currently constructing a Chinese Culture Exploratorium filled with Chinese art, costumes, high-tech interactive exhibits and more in the St. Francis Center atrium on the Auraria Higher Education Campus. Our Grand Gala Exploratorium opening will be held Friday, November 6, 2009 by invitation only.

 

 

Accomplishments: We are currently forming an exchange program for faculty and students between our campus and Chinese educational partner Chongqing Three Gorges University
