Writing is literally in her genes. Her father was a journalist and her husband and children are following in those footsteps.
Bob and Gerri Sweeney hired her at The Villager newspaper as Education Specialist. After attending and writing about a Kempe Children’s Foundation dinner, she became the Society Editor. It was a perfect fit for Glory. That was 17 years ago.
Glory takes all the photos used in her column, “Glory Us Goings On,” which appears in the weekly publication. Naturally, Glory’s schedule is booked solid attending charity events for covering in her column. Yet she finds time for her favorites; Glory is a life member of several non-profit organizations, including Cancer League of Colorado and Kempe Children’s Foundation.

Favorite clothing stores: Nordstrom, Lord & Taylor, Talbot’s Petite, and K Mart. (Where would you go at 11 p.m. in Princeton, NJ if your luggage was lost?)
Interests: Wheel-thrown pottery, nature photography, reading, dining with long-time friends off the job.
Favorite Denver restaurants: Mimi’s, Vasils, Roy’s, Wellshire Inn, and Tasteez (has best fries in town) because they all have non-smoking dining rooms, not just non-smoking sections.

What three things do you always have in your refrigerator? Nonfat plain yogurt, oranges and whole-wheat tortillas. Truthfully, a lot of restaurant doggie bags, wilted spinach and unrecognizable leftovers.
What's your favorite comfort food? String cheese
Junk Food? French fries
What was your most memorable meal? I wore braces on my teeth as an adult, between marriages. One date took me to a very upscale French restaurant. During salad, one of the rubber bands popped out and landed in my date's salad but thankfully he didn't see it!!
Where do you go in your home to feel completely relaxed and just think? The couch in my home office in winter, and the lounge on my back patio in the summer.
If money and time were no object, what dream project would you do to your home? Build a sun room and fill it with plants that a professional would tend regularly. I've always dreamed of having a shallow pool in the entry, sprouting water lilies.
What was the most unusual thing you've ever decorated your home with? When my kids were small and sloppy, I carpeted the house in brownish orange, hoping that this color would hide stains. It didn't.
What tool have you purchased that you've never used? Lawn mower.
What have you lost in your home that you never found - and would love back? My now grown son's colorful wooden building blocks I was saving for his futurechildren.
When you move, what will your home tell its next owner about you? You could always eat off my floors. Sometimes because it was immaculate, other times because of all the food lingering on them.
What one word describes you best? Interesting
If your life were a movie, what movie would it be? Exhale. Second choice: The Grapes of Wrath!
Who is your hero? Why? My husband, because he keeps me sane, loves me unconditionally, and usually has a good sense of direction, even in foreign countries.
What is your pet peeve? I hate to be addressed as Mrs. Weisberg in formal mailings or in person. My name is Glory Weisberg, period. Also, I hate having my first name misspelled. My birth name is Glory. Deal with it!
Where can you be found at midnight? In bed, asleep
What was your first job? Teaching third grade in a Littleton public school.
What would you do if you were Queen of the world? I would be a benevolent dictator and rule according to my conscience, not some heavily lobbied legislative clique.
What word or expression do you use too much? Hon, as in Hi, Hon! I even call my male friends Hon.
If there were one thing you would change about yourself, what would it be? My body. I am so @#%&! tired of being told I'm tiny. Also, I hate my hair but at least I have lots of it, so far.
What is your greatest indulgence? My fast, upscale automobiles
Best gift you ever gave? Being there when my really close friends needed me.
If you could have a no-holds barred shopping spree, where would you go? Cherry Creek Shopping Center
What is one thing nobody knows about you? Without makeup, my eyebrows are naturally white blond.
Which social event is your favorite? On the job, it is the annual Booklover's Ball. Off the job, it's Birthday Club parties.
What is a favorite childhood memory? Making Duncan Himes chocolate fudge cake with my sisters, frosting the cake with fudge icing and eating about half of it before it cooled. Second choice: singing in the Waco, TX Jewish congregation choir with my mom and dad.
Who is the most interesting celebrity you ever met? Colin Powell
What makes you laugh? My grandson, Benjamin, who turns two in January.
What is your favorite item of clothing in your closet? My Talbot's black wool slacks
What do you consider your proudest achievement? Being someone's best friend - and having this job for 17 years!
What's the most recent book you've read? One Thousand White Women. It was a quasi-historical, fictionalized account of an idea never executed by the Federal government to rid the nation of bigotry against Native Americans in the 1880s by having white women intermarry with them. It focused on the best and worst of humanity.
What is your greatest regret? Not having the chance to really know my father. He died when I was young.
What is your personal motto? The aforementioned Golden Rule. Also, if at first you don't succeed, go back andread the instructions.
What might your epitaph read? I overcame many obstacles and had a lot of fun doing it. When opportunity knocked, I answered the door.
