Josh grew up in Washington DC, the oldest of three children, and moved to Denver after college, where he planned to stay for only a year. “Denver has been very, very good to me,” he says. ” I feel like I grew up here and this is my home. … I have found a community that I can participate in and that I love.”
Josh says his involvement in nonprofits stems from his view on life. “My world has four equal parts; business, personal, charity and political. If you want to be a part of your community, then all four must have equal importance in your life. If you just want to work an eight –hour- day and go home and watch TV, then you don’t have to care about your city and you can’t really complain about it if you don’t like it,” he says. “My parents were very politically active, I grew up around people giving back to their community, so it’s natural for me.”
Recently, Josh founded the website www.setameeting.com due to his frustration with the time it took to schedule his numerous meetings. Previously, he founded Qube Visual, a Denver based sign and graphics company.
Josh is very close with his family, especially his new nephew Hannan. His parents, sister and brother-in-law are in Denver and his brother is an aspiring actor in California. Someday he hopes to have a family. “That would make my mother very happy,” he says. “Professionally, I’d like to take a company public and I’d also explore running for office.”

Which social event is your favorite? The “Cocktails and Karaoke” party benefiting the Kunsberg School at National Jewish Hospital.
What are your volunteer activities? I’m on the board of Hospice of Metro Denver, The American Transplant Foundation and Friends of Denver Fire Department which I also founded. I am on the development board at National Jewish Hospital where I chair the committee that oversees the Kunsberg School for Chronically Ill Children. I am on the Advisory Board for Concerts for Kids and serve on the committee for Janet’s Camp that benefits the YMCA. I am also currently on the Denver Parking Commission.
Who is your hero and why? I really don’t have just one hero; I respect and admire a lot of people from my father to friends to people in politics and the media. I pull things from several people and try to find guidance in that. I really admire integrity in a person and those I find heroic always have a lot of that.
If your life were a movie, who would play your part? Rodney Dangerfield…cause I get no respect.
Saturday nights at midnight are most likely to find you: Finishing dinner anywhere other than at my house.

When you move, what will your home tell its next owner, about you? “Who was that guy?”

How would you like others to describe you? A good guy, a nice guy.
What was your first job? I worked the paper route for the Washington Star; they went bankrupt and still owe me $380.00.
What word or expression do you use too much? “Yes”
If there were one thing you would change about yourself, what would it be? I wouldn’t mind being a bit physically healthier, and less critical of others.
What is your greatest indulgence? I really don’t think anything I do is indulgent. I think you should do anything you like to do and not feel guilty about it. I eat, I drink, I smoke cigars and have a good time, but I never feel as if I’m indulging myself by enjoying these things.
What is the best gift you have ever received or given? The best gift I’ve ever given are gifts that no one knows about- those I’ve given to charity anonymously. Those make me feel the best. The best gift I’ve ever received is friendship.
What or who is the greatest love of your life? My family
