Of Norwegian decent, Martha says she might have more relatives in Norway than she does in her native Minnesota – and “I have lots of relatives in Minnesota” Martha laughs.
Martha is in her third year as a Real Estate Agent with Coldwell Banker and says she has learned so many lessons from some of the stumbles she’s taken in life. She keeps on learning, and life keeps on getting better and better.
Martha loves people, children, and animals. She credits her many wonderful friends with helping her keep a confident and optimistic outlook about the future. With Martha’s drive and love of adventure, she might as well put her shades back on, because her future is looking pretty bright. As Martha puts it: “I’ve learned to love and appreciate all the little things in life!”
How do you keep your spirits up? You always seem so happy. Pets, plants, and lots of friends. Good friends help keep you happy.
What’s the best advice you have for someone who wants to become a real estate agent? It’s takes a long time to get established and develop a clientele. It’s fun, but it involves a time commitment as well as a financial commitment. You need to stick with it, work hard, be patient – and give great service to your clients.
What will we find you doing on one of your days off? I rarely get a day off. When you are a single parent, you don’t get too many days off. When you aren’t working at your job, you are doing things at home. I have to make time for myself.
What do you do to “decompress” after a stressful day? Work in the garden, read and take baths.
What three things are always in your refrigerator? Milk (We drink a lot of milk in our house), eggs and butter.
What is your favorite place in your house? My jacuzzi tub and bed.
If your house was up for sale, and a prospective buyer did a walk through, what would your home tell them about you? She has so much stuff!
What social or charitable event is your favorite? “Mutts and Models,” (I’m one of the founders of the event) and “Do at the Zoo.”
What fundraising activities are you involved in at this time? Mutts and Models (benefiting Harrison Veterinary Hospital), The Deb Ball, The Denver Zoo, Kempe Foundation, Fine Arts Foundation).

What is a favorite childhood memory? Time spent on my Grandma and Grandpa’s farm.
When you were a little girl, what did you say you wanted to be when you grew up? A Dentist.
What is a moment in your life you will never forget? When I almost drowned while kayaking in a rapid-moving river.
What do you most value in your friends? Loyalty and Confidentiality.
What is one thing nobody knows about you? I love to Dirt Bike, own a dirt bike – and I’m good at it!
What do you like most about yourself? I’m friendly.
What do you like least about yourself? I talk too much.
What is your greatest indulgence? My Daughters. I let them get away with murder!
Which of your projects have you found particularly challenging? Chronicling all my photos - and cleaning out my basement.
What is your favorite clothing store? The Internet; I hate to shop.
What is your advice for a happy marriage? Always communicate and try to work things out. Divorce is not a good option.

If there were one thing you could change about yourself, what would it be? I would start all over and host a TV Show where I could work with animals.

What are your hobbies or other interests? I love water so I love to water ski and jet skiing. Also snow skiing, sewing, playing the piano, singing and dancing.

What is your greatest extravagance? Taking a vacation.
If you could go back in time and do something differently, what would it be? I’d go to Broadcasting School.
What do you consider your proudest achievement? Making it on my own after a terrible divorce and raising my daughters alone.
